• Our staff will ask you if any imaging has been done recently. Most modern imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT) can accessed online by Simon. In addition, your referral, your Medicare and private health fund / Workers Compensation or CTP details.

    Public patients can see Simon at

    • The Royal Newcastle Centre at John Hunter Hospital in New Lambton Heights.

  • We have limited parking behind our building. 4 car parks including a disabled parking space. There is street parking available in the surrounding streets.

  • Yes, if you are unable to physically attend your appointment, we offer Telehealth as phone consult.  An appointments must be made and consultation fees will be due prior to the Telehealth appointment. Please contact the admin team to book an appointment.

    Please note that Telehealth is NOT available for your first appointment. Simon requires a face-to face for all new patients.

  • Please note that Simon are unable to book patients into public hospital operating lists from our private practice. It is best practice to see Simon at the Royal Newcastle Centre if you do not have private health insurance. Referrals can be faxed to 02 4923 3900

    We recommend Joining a Health Fund

    In many cases, it may be more affordable in the long term to take out private health insurance now. If surgery is recommended by Simon this can be planned after the 12-month waiting period.

    Most health funds require a 12-month waiting period for treatment of pre-existing conditions. However, once this period has passed, your private health insurance may cover:

    • Most or all of your hospital costs (which are usually the most significant)

    • A portion of the surgeon’s fee

    • A portion of the anaesthetist’s fee

    • A portion of the assistant surgeon’s fee

  • Please let our staff know that you are a Workers Compensation patient. We require your case manager to send the approval letter to our consulting rooms.

  • Simon recognises that many musculoskeletal injuries and conditions do not always require surgical intervention. Patients however still need guidance through this difficult period. An individual treatment plan will be tailored to your specific needs utilising an active pathway involving pain management and physical therapies to achieve positive outcomes.

  • For consultations there are standard fees. Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Payment on the day can be made using cash, credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or EFTPOS.

    Surgery fees vary depending on your procedure and private health fund. If surgery is the best option Simon and the staff will discuss all costs with you. You will also receive written confirmation of these fees prior to surgery.  You will be given an Informed Financial Consent to sign.
